Professional Counseling Associate

Maria is a Licensed Professional Counselor (2008). She earned her BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Maria is a Level II Certified EAGALA Equine Therapist, EMDR Trained, and a Prepare/Enrich Certified Facilitator. Before moving back to Kannapolis from the mountains of North Carolina, Maria worked for over 5 years with children and families in the foster care system. She now works with children, teens, adults, couples and families who are dealing with a wide range of challenges including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, ADD/ADHD, trauma, grief/loss and spiritual growth. Maria’s desire is to help clients experience healing and life change through faith-centered therapy.

Samantha Sult - MA, NCC, LPC

Professional Counseling Associate

A Licensed Professional Counselor, Samantha holds a BA in Psychology from NCSU and a MA in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  While working at Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Rodgers Christian Counseling, she worked with a variety of relational, emotional, and spiritual issues. Samantha utilizes play therapy with children ages 4+. She also counsels individuals, couples, and families facing grief, life-stage changes, depression, anxiety, anger management, family conflict, substance abuse, and spiritual formation. Samantha’s ultimate desire is to provide healing from past wounds and to equip clients to have healthy, meaningful relationships with others. She strives to give every client space to be heard and for them to know that she cares about their struggles.

Clay Parker - MS, LPC

Professional Counseling Associate

Clay is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a long history of working in the mental health field in various capacities. He enjoys working with children, teens, and adults with various presenting issues. He likes to be creative with the counseling techniques that he employs in order to help people address their problems in a non-threatening and fun way. Clay believes that faith and humor can help people cope through difficult times and he manifests both of these beliefs within the therapy interventions that he uses. I He follows a cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy and is available with flexible hours to meet client’s needs.

Jodi Hinkson - MA, LPCA

Professional Counseling Associate

Jodi is a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate. She earned a BA in Psychology from Covenant College and a MA in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She began her practice at Hickory Grove Counseling Center and Carolinas Healthcare System Pastoral Care. Jodi enjoys integrating her Christian faith with the Internal Family Systems model and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Jodi works with adults, as well as adolescents/preteens and their families. Areas of special interest include: anxiety, depression, self-esteem, school issues, family conflicts and martial issues. Jodi is a compassionate counselor creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for healing and growth.

Katy Potts - MA, LPCA, NCC

Katy is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) with passion and experience working with teens, adults, and their families towards growth, restoration, and healing. With a bachelor’s in Psychology and a minor in Vocal Performance from Liberty University, she attended UNCC for a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has worked in a variety of settings, from hospital inpatient units to private practices. Katy has been intentional about refining her skills to focus on individual’s concerns with spirituality/faith, crises, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life adjustments. Utilizing traditional and creative approaches, she employs an array of customizable tools to allow clients to communicate, express themselves, learn coping skills, and uncover insight. She enjoys working with clients to incorporate and respect their beliefs in session so that each person is heard and appreciated.
